What are the First Signs of Pregnancy?

Some women claim that they “instinctively” know that they are pregnant, while others are left questioning what are the first signs of pregnancy.
You don’t have to “feel” pregnant to actually be pregnant. Below is a list of some of the common first signs of pregnancy, some of which you may not even experience, even if you are pregnant.
Missing a period
One of the most common signs of being pregnant, missing a period is usually a clear indication that you are pregnant. There are other causes of missing a period, such as stress or illness, but when this occurs, there’s a pretty good chance that you are experiencing one of the first signs of pregnancy.
Breast tenderness
Once you become pregnant, you may feel a noticeable difference in the size and feel of your breasts. As early as a few days after conception, your breasts prepare themselves for breastfeeding- you’ll probably experience heaviness and soreness. Many pregnant women report that their breasts are sensitive and experience sharp, tingling sensations.
Nausea and vomiting
Also known as morning sickness, women who “feel sick” are probably experiencing another of the common first signs of pregnancy. Although it’s called morning sickness, nausea and vomiting can occur any time of the day.
