Keep your Kids Germ-Free and Healthy

Keeping your kids healthy is always a high priority on any parent’s list - but do you know the BEST ways to ensure your kids remain relatively germ-free?
The following steps will assist you in keeping your family healthy and happy and are surprisingly basic and easy to implement in your daily lifestyle.
First and foremost, start teaching your kids early on about the importance of washing their hands before eating, after playing with animals, being outdoors and using the restroom. Washing their hands after these activities will ensure they don’t bring in any harmful germs that can cause them to become ill.
A mere 20 seconds with soap and water will do the trick!
If you’re out and about without easy access to soap and water or a sink, keep a travel size bottle of hand sanitizer with you. After an activity that your children would normally wash their hands, use the hand sanitizer to keep germs at bay and tell them to wash their hands once you return home.
If you cook meat or poultry, be sure to thoroughly scrub and wash cutting boards and counter tops with hot, soapy water. Use a disinfectant on counter tops for added germ protection. Bacteria found in raw meat isn’t something you want your children ingesting!
If your child gets a mild cut or scrape, wash the cut with warm water and apply an antiseptic ointment like Neosporin. Protect the cut with a bandage and change the bandage every day until the cut heals. This will prevent germs from entering the wound, making an infection less likely.
Additionally, keep your kids up to date on their vaccinations and you are already well on your way to keeping your kids germ free and healthy!
