While it may seem like a trivial matter, learning how to bathe your baby can actually be one of the most confusing things for a new parent to learn. Questions abound from how to safely bathe your baby to how often a bath is really necessary.

The following tips will help new parents learn safe and effective bathing techniques to keep their little one squeaky clean - without worry!

One of the most important things to remember when bathing your baby is to ensure a good grip on your child to prevent wiggling and squirming when he’s wet and soapy.

Also, instead of bathing your baby in a regular bathtub, you should bathe him in the sink or purchase a specially designed baby tub that fits in your sink and allows you to easily clean your child.

Most babies actually enjoy baths and will only fuss in the beginning as they are getting used to the water. To make bath times simpler, it’s important to assemble all necessary bath accessories before you begin so they are within easy reach.

Make sure you fill the tub or sink with water that’s warm but not too hot. Undress your child and slowly lower him into the water, periodically pouring handfuls of water over your child so he can acclimate himself to the temperature and not get too cold.

Take care not to use too much soap as you are bathing him because soap will dry your baby’s skin. Thoroughly cleanse your baby with a damp washcloth, pat him dry and wrap him in a towel when you are done. Don’t forget to rinse him!

By following these simple steps you can make bath time simple and easy for you and your child!
